Miller Genuine Draft sponsored the event providing complimentary drinks to guests who arrived before 6:30 p.m., which was the perfect start to the night. The sun was shining bright and warm, making the snow-cone machine a massive hit. Guests were also treated to complimentary barbecue courtesy of Treeline Catering, which included sliders and skewers. A new addition to this Schmooze event was the classic party game of beer pong, set up to the right of the bar. The game was played by many guests, and even created a spectator gathering.

Guests created memories by taking pictures for our social media contest, the winner receiving a $25 Sweet Jesus ice cream gift card. To enter, contestants posted a picture using the hashtag, #MaisonAfterWorkSchmooze. The winner chosen by the most number of likes on the post. Thank you to everyone who participated and congratulations to our winner @paola_latronico!

I arrived just before 5 pm, and there was already a lineup of people waiting to get inside! Once we were in, it was so nice. The Maison staff had set up all of the booths and the staff was all very pleasant and accommodating. As soon as it started it was pretty busy but after an hour there were so many people! It was great to see some familiar faces and so many new ones too.

The food, courtesy of Treeline Catering was unreal. I saw mini burgers and chicken skewers, which were delicious. People were lingering around the BBQ and it seemed just as the guy was done preparing the food, it was gone so I’m glad everyone enjoyed it!

The sun came out just in time for SCHMOOZE and people seemed to enjoy being able to relax after a long week of working. It must have been a long week judging by the amount of jagerbombs I saw being passed around! Maison’s patio is the best spot for a warm evening and the DJ was playing some classic summer tunes to really kick off patio season in Toronto.

SCHMOOZE is happening each and every Friday until the end of summer on Maison’s rooftop patio. However, if you want to see me and Shanny in the City (which I know you do) we’ll be there again June 26! Same deal as last time. We’ll be having drink specials (who can pass up $4 drinks??) and a complimentary BBQ before 630 pm. We’re so happy everyone came out and we can’t wait to see you again in June!

A complimentary BBQ, and cocktails returned at the Rendezvous and guess what? The atmosphere and the weather did too! Spicy chicken skewers, tasty burgers, popcorn, and a number of people enjoying cocktails under a sun of 28°C.  Many of the guests were on the sofas of Maison’s patio… What more do you need more for a Summer Friday Afterwork?

Discover or return to the venue you know and love to experience another Friday Schmooze!  The Friday Schmooze Afterwork is August 15th at Maison, 5:00PM – 11:00PM.

The After Work Schmooze was presented by Remy Martin and takes place every Friday on the patio. And the best was the location: The event occurred at Mercer´s rooftop terrace, which provides an amazing view on Toronto´s skyline. If that is not a suitable way to start the weekend on a great summer day!  

The event was co-hosted by CityEvents Toronto so many people from their network learned about the event via Social Media. Thus, the location filled up quickly and the terrace matched perfectly – it was crowded but not packed. The night was accompanied by happy hour drinks and a complimentary BBQ.

So if you were not there, just imagine the sunshine in your face, sitting on a cozy sofa, talking to your colleague while having a good wine and a snack from the tasty BBQ! Being surrounded by other people relaxing and listening to good music. Let´s hear from Manon and Annie who are currently at CityEvents how they liked the event Manon: “It was the first time that I went to Maison Mercer and I really enjoyed it, it’s a fancy venue where it’s nice to relax after work!” Annie: “The atmosphere of the venue was great and it is a good opportunity to meet new people and have interesting conversations!

Some other guests told me they just heard about the event from friends and that they will definitely come again as the relaxed atmosphere was a perfect start for a Friday night!
