The newest addition to King Street West, The Citizen has just recently opened its doors for local residents. Inspired by the vintage design from the 1930’s this restaurant/bar is becoming the new hotspot, serving timeless classics with a contemporary edge.

Venue:

Ian Rydberg has carefully crafted a place of comfort, timelessness and sophistication. He has redesigned the space by using both vintage and contemporary elements in the décor. The spacious venue seats 197, has elegant and comfortable leather couches, original beams from the historic Gooderham and Worts distillery, along with numerous vintage sports equipment that immediately captures your attention. The sports bar ambiance provides a perfect setting to unwind, relax and have drinks with a few friends.

Food:

Amanda Walti is the executive chef whose inspiration behind the menu stems from classic home cooked, comfort food with a unique and contemporary twist. Focusing much attention on food associated with bar snacks, Walti has been able to reinvent dishes that are favored by many. Pairing with the food the carefully crafted cocktails also have a classic resemblance, balanced with a modern and distinctive taste.

Additional Info:

The Citizen also provides its guests with phone charging stations, 8 TV’s for the individual selection of its guests and is equipped with free Wifi. The elegant, comfortable and vintage feel provides a space of quality, where both historical and contemporary elements are brought together to create a unique space for the residents of King Street West.
