Starters
Have you heard of Toronto artist Drake’s newest restaurant in town? Located right in the heart of the city, Pick 6ix is the newest hot spot in town.

Cocktails
This venue is where our very own artist hosts his private parties with celebrities; NBA superstars, OVO crew etc. How amazing is the opportunity to host your event in the same venue Drake likes to host his own. At Pick 6ix you’re sure to often see the crowd order bottles of wine but when dinner time comes, you get to see all the fabulous cocktails. The Black Widow is the top-selling cocktail, made with Drake’s Virginia Black whiskey.

Mains
Pick 6ix is the place to enjoy top quality drinks and food while being in an atmosphere that has a mix of an upscale lounge or dinner and a sports bar. Without forgetting that they offer healthy high-end dishes and lots of sashimi and sushi.

The restaurant features a 2,100-square-foot open concept with a glass enclose that slides down by the simple touch of a button. Once the glass ceiling is opened it creates a great open patio environment. (See picture below.)

Pick 6ix Patio – Photo taken by Deborah Lewis

Side
The venue has three private rooms, two of them can be combined and let’s not forget that anyone can have access to Drake’s personal room with a private entrance when he’s not around.

Dessert
The resto lounge space has a permanent DJ station for your next event. Although Pick 6ix is a high class venue, they host SIX DEGREES, a social media series by E! Stay tuned as the series discusses everything from sports to the hottest topics in pop culture.
Pick 6ix’s operation hours are Monday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. which is great as not a lot of restaurants in the city are open late nights.

Capacity
The restaurant seats 178, with an outdoor terrace accommodating up to 100 guests.

On August 22nd 2017, CityEvents took part in the Apparel Textile Sourcing Canada Trade Show at the International Centre. CityEvents presented the crowd a fun and trendy fashion show to the mix of some already great seminars that take place at the yearly trade show.

The show featured some amazing designers from students out of George Brown, Seneca College, OCAD, Fanshaw and Humber College to some trendy up and coming Canadian designers. Amongst this mix were student designers such as Anastasiya Lyevina who opened the show and set the mood for the day, along with Kennie Lampkin and Sepideh Ghahremani whose designs took the stage by storm.

Some of the featured Canadian designers consisted of Gift Gowns a stylish alternative to those boring hospital gowns that everyone is so used to, Katiya Lifestyle Brand whose designs were comfortable and perfect to wear during your downtime.

KM Brand who was also featured in the trends lounge that displayed how you can take one outfit and turn it into another. KM designs featured cool zip off clothing pieces that turned short sleeves into long sleeves and pants into shorts in a matter of seconds. Last but not least Julia Grieve’s designs closed the show with her brand PreLoved and showed off some great sustainable pieces that could be added to any fashion lovers wardrobe for this up and coming fall and winter seasons.

The show also featured some of the amazing designs from the exhibitors that were already on the trade show floor from Bangledesh, China and India. This show provided the public the option to stop by the booths and check out designs that were being featured in the show.

With a professional stage, awesome music and great lighting no wonder people were stopping by to take pictures as the models strutted everything from outerwear to formal wear and designs for every season.

CityEvents was pleased to take part in the production for this show by recruiting designers from all over. The experience of marketing and producing the show was a joy to the team. Thank you to all the schools, models, designers and supporters who came out to help and check out the show.

The Inaugural Rose Picnic took over the beautiful grounds of Fort York in downtown Toronto; with its pink blankets everywhere, music planning, and picnic baskets with tasty snacks!

It was a memorable interactive picnic with a summer festival vibe! Despite the fickle weather, the staff did excellent job, and everything ran smoothly.

The good vibes of the event outweighed the imperfect weather, thanks to the fresh beverage, the laugh of the people enjoying their time, the music and the tasty food.

The people had enjoyed the performances of the talented piano artist, David Johanns, while sipping on a delicious glass of Rose.

It was the perfect event to enjoy a good time with your friends as well as meet new people. Toronto’s first ever Rose picnic was a success and we are definitely hoping it becomes an annual event.

Toronto’s oldest landmark pub, The Dominion, was first established in 1889 by Robert Davies, the third son of one of the most prominent families in the history of Toronto brewing. He founded the Dominion Brewery, in competition with his brother who started The Don Brewery, just a little bit down from where he would later open the pub and hotel. The brewery is now a heritage site called Dominion Square. The Dominion Brewery produced internationally acclaimed lagers and ales for over 60 years. By the time of Davies death in 1916, he had become one of Toronto’s wealthiest residents.

The original building still stands today at 500 Queen St. E as the Dominion Pub and Kitchen. In keeping with its history, the interior has been stripped down to the original bricks and is decorated in with dark tufted leather couches, wood paneling, and wire lights, it’s easy to feel as if you’ve stepped into a speakeasy. The bar is stacked with 24 craft taps, lots of bourbons, plenty of spirits for hand-crafted cocktails, and wine.

(Left) Front Dining and Lounge area with rich tufted leather seating (Right) Fully Stacked Bar.
The Robert Davies Room, named in honour of the man mentioned above, is an entirely private room at the south end of the building with raised windows facing Queen St. E., low and high seating options, and large mirrors on one side of the room that reflects a painting of the an original Dominion Brewing Co.’s Club Ale label on the exposed brick on the opposite side. There is two screen in the room with connection capabilities. The Robert Davies room is perfect for smaller gathers and celebrations and can accommodate up to 60 guests for both cocktail or seated receptions.

(Left) North View if Robert Davies Room (Right) South View of Robert Davies Room.
The Back Dining Room is a semi-private and rectangular space with a stage on the back north wall that would be perfect for presentations, performances, speeches, or a moderately sized party for any reason. There are cozy bench seating and warm wood paneling that the runs the length of the room on one side facing original archways to the rest of the restaurant. The Back Dining Room can hold up to 100 standing, or 70 – 80 guests seated, depending on table arrangement.

The much-anticipated arrival of Bisha Hotel & Residence is approaching, with an expected unveiling for later this spring/early summer and it looks really cool. The 44-storey building in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District, will be home to 355 residential suites and offers 96 luxury boutique hotel rooms.

Since the location of Bisha is prime real estate in one of the city’s trendiest neighbourhoods, the amenities and event spaces are top notch and include; a rooftop infinity pool with restaurant and bar that overlooks Lake Ontario, 24-hour Café and main floor terrace and state of the art exercise facility.

The design of all the interior spaces was led by Alessandro Munge from STUDIO, save for the 9th floor which musician Lenny Kravitz designed with inspiration from music, art and his travel experiences.

In addition to the hotel suites, Bisha also offers a number of rentable venue space for events. The lobby lounge can accommodate 130 seated or 200 for a cocktail reception with space on the main floor patio, for the perfect summer party. At CityEvents we learned about all the spaces first hand and see a lot of potential for corporate events as well as the growing cultural events in Toronto.

Their biggest venue space is 2300 square feet and resides on the 43rd floor with spectacular views of the city and can be used for larger events or an intimate meeting space. We anticipate this roof patio and view to be one of the best in the city.
