MyCellMyTerms Paves the Way for the Best Cell Phone Deals

Did you know that Canadians pay on average $500 US a year for their cell phone service?
Canada has the third highest wireless rates in the developed world, behind USA and Spain. Thanks to the limited choice of wireless providers, Canadians are limited to the 3 major service providers: Bell, Fido, and Telus (which control the majority of the 25 other brands).
However, this is all about to change. 4 innovative individuals who founded MyCellMyTerms recently pitched their business model on CBC’s show, “Dragon’s Den.” They are giving a voice to consumers and helping users find the solution to their biggest question: “Where can we get the best cell phone deals?” Having worked on this for 2 years, MCMT allows users to go on their website and specify their dream plan and the price they’re willing to pay for it. MCMT then drives competition to the dealer by anonymously shopping the plan to national dealer networks, which empowers a voice for the consumers.
The founders of MCMT went on the show Dragons Den and were ultimately offered 35% of the company for $400,000. Ms. Dickinson approved of the concept and the entrepreneurs. Many believe that this small start-up company will revolutionize the way that rate plans are bought in this country. Now, rather than have consumers go to the carriers, the carriers will be going to the consumers to satisfy their needs.
About MCMT: myCELLmyTERMS matches cell phone users with their ideal cell phone plans. You tell us your wish list for cell phone services, and we shop it around to our exclusive dealer network, rank their bids based on what you asked for and you choose what’s best for you. Essentially a one-stop shop for your cell phone needs.

Photographers take notes. Smart phone users listen up, there are three new photo contests on Lenzr to help beat the winter blues. These competitions will give Canadian shutterbugs something to do in the cold winter months of November and December, even if that’s just scrounging through their collections to see if they have shots that match the criteria.
All three photo challenges showcase the warn tropical environs of Mother Nature as they program environmental awareness into the hearts and minds of visitors and voters. On Lenzr anyone can vote for the pictures, but registered votes are worth 5x more, and the score is a combination of both types of votes divided by the number of votes. On Lenzr the membership decides the winners, and the system builds buzz and attracts local photographers to help business make art.

Got a New Years Resolution for 2010? How often do you incorporate health and wellness in your exercise regime?
The Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute states that only 49% of Canadians (aged 20 and older) are at least moderately active during their leisure time (Approximately 25% of adults are moderately active, while only 24% are classified as active). This leaves a mere 51% of Canadians who are inactive in their leisure times. It is proven that keeping a health and fitness regime can improve health benefits substantially.
Women tend to be more inactive than men (52% compared to 48%). The major barriers that most people face when trying to keep an exercise routine are access to convenient facilities, time, and safe environments to exercise.
