CityEvents is very proud to share that we have been featured in the SNAP downtown Toronto website and newspaper. The featured article was written about the Liberty Social Hour event held at Locus 144.The photo’s and videos of Fastlane have also been featured in the same month. The photos, articles and videos were featured and shared with the public. We couldn’t have been prouder.

FastLane offers a unique approach to connecting urban professionals in a variety of industries. Professionals can meet new people; trade tips and make beneficial contacts while unwinding in a relaxing environment.

Liberty Social Hour will give local residents and businesses a chance to experience the potential of Liberty Village at different venues while interacting with their community. It’s the perfect opportunity to create valuable relationships while exchanging and sharing ideas and opinions concerning the life and work in Liberty Village. Enjoy one of the many beautiful venues that Liberty Village has to offer.

Liberty Social Hour – Le Bel Été

Located minutes away from the chaotic streets of the downtown core, Liberty Village is an emerging community just west of downtown for businesses and residents. CityEvents and hosted one of many Liberty Social Hour events which enable locals to meet and mingle with each other. Locus 144, located in The Liberty Market, held a successful community networking event showcasing their unique dinner menu and spirits lists. The ambience of Locus144 is very soothing, a great place to unwind and submerge yourself into the warm and cozy colour pallets of the decor. Lights were dimmed to perfection and the music just loud enough so people could still talk. Locus also invited a local classic/pop singer to add some flavour to the already vibrant event and Lucia (singer) sang for a set before the D.J took over playing into the late hours on a beautiful summer evening. Source

The April 26th FastLane Event at Kultura

April 28, 2011 by

I always look forward to Fastlane events. The crowd is down to earth and ready to mingle. It’s very inviting and energetic. Last night’s Fastlane at Kultura on King St East had it all. There was great people, interesting vendors, generous sponsors and a good crowd for speed networking.  Two full sessions of one on one networking with ten people each occurred at 6:30 and 8pm. Following the huge success of last year’s “Fastlane, In the Community” we decided to rejoin forces with United Way’s GenNext to enlighten our networking social attendees about the importance of giving back and getting involved.

GenNext and The United Way

GenNext is a group committed to encouraging and increasing volunteer awareness of the United Way and their initiatives. They aim to help people in their 20’s and 30’s get more involved in the community. Just like last year, the event was hosted at the beautifully rustic Kultura. The red brick walls and yellow cast birch bark veneer tree trunks made a wonderful backdrops to meeting new people and hearing about new campaigns and ‘good causes’.

Getting into the FastLane

Getting involved is an easy as simply showing up at the door.  Last night that meant battling the inclement weather, but most people I know believe that springtime is the perfect time to get engaged and give back to the community. Most people want to get more involved, but they simply don’t know what to do or where to go. This event was a great reminder about the importance of our collective participation and involvement in charity and the program even suggested some outreach programs not represented at the venue.  At Fastlane however people are generally happy and ready to contribute. In this environment they get to have a couple of drinks, mingle and chat with other interesting people , and help society. It’s a great package, and the goodie bag filled with deals is always a nice bonus.

Thanks For The Help

I wanted to thank everyone for joining us last night and making the event a success. We all got to meet someone new and learn about exciting initiatives. Another huge thank you goes out to the Gatherings and CityEvents team for making this event a success. Planning a wonderful event is always easy when working with a dedicated and talented team. Last but not least, thanks to all of our sponsors for their continued support of FastLane.  Our door prizes were graciously donated by John Frieda, ColdFX, Blo Blowdry, Wrigleys, Lounge, SGT Splatters, Danceology Studio, Extreme Fitness, Mysteriously Yours, tickets to Mirvish’s Ghost Stories.

Fastlane for Wellness & Beauty at The Adelaide Club

FastLane and City Events The verdict is in, Feb 9th 2011 FastLane, connecting fast minds was a huge success. Our wellness and beauty theme was the perfect pick-me-up for the dreary and cold month of February. People mingled with each other and vendors. We even got to learn things we never knew. Did you know that you could have your necessary vegetable intake in a simple supplement? I sure didn’t, but Peter from Juice Plus and talked to me about the importance of my health and how I need to take care of “me” now so that I can avoid health complications in the future. The lovely ladies at Clarins: Beauty Products taught me that it’s important to cleanse and moisturize daily; the wonderful samples they gave me have already transformed my skin for today.

FastLane at cityevents What is FastLane about:

FastLane is a great place to meet people in different industries across Toronto. The energetic and lively mood of the event is great if you are looking to make a connection with someone in the same industry or exploring others out there. The event had it all: great food, great music, friendly bartenders, speed networking and knowledgeable vendors. At first there was some hesitation about the location being in a gym, but it was actually inspirational. I have fallen out of my 4 times a week gym routine, and being in the atmosphere reminded me of how much healthier I feel when I work out. It is so important to take care of yourself from the inside out.

FastLane City Events So, what did I learn last night?

The incredible feeling of putting on a successful event—when working with a team of such enthusiastic, fun-loving event planners it’s not as difficult as it sounds! I also learned simple steps to improve my health and beauty. And lastly, I got to meet some wonderful people and make a ton of connections. Make sure to stay tuned for our next FastLane. We’d love to see you and some new faces.
