On Saturday, February 11th 2017, The Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons celebrated the 33rd year of the Great Valentine Gala, an awards ceremony and fundraising event that celebrates the success of Canadians with physical disabilities.
With over 470 guests in attendance, attendees were treated to delicious food, sweet wines and live performances by the amazing Beatles tribute band – The Caverners. Of course, Suhana Meharchand, the event’s enthusiastic and professional MC, did an outstanding job as the Master of Ceremonies.
A lively reception took place in the Fairmont Royal York’s Ontario Room at 6PM, where guests in attendance were invited to socialize with other CFPDP members and guests as well as enjoy the complimentary drinks offered at the bars. Guests were also invited to sign a banner at the Invictus Games booth that is to be displayed at the event taking place in September 2017.
Afterwards in the Canadian Room, food was served and awards were handed out to Canadians who have showcased to the world in the past year, their ability to work hard and strive for success. Congratulations to the 2016 Rio Paralympic Medal Winners, Chantal Petitclerc, Tim Hortons Canada and Cisco Canada.
With more live entertainment provided by The Caverners and DJ Jerry Archer, our guests danced the night away and happily celebrated the end of the 33rd Great Valentine Gala. To see photos from this event click here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/cityeventstoronto/albums/72157680300383895
