A congratulations is in order as our very own Deborah Lewis has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Toronto Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (THCC)! Deb was appointed on Thursday, May 26 of this year at the AGM. The focus of the THCC is to support economic development for Hispanic Business and help their members facilitate business opportunities in Toronto, Canada and Latin America.

Deb is interested in the continuous cultural growth of the city and is excited to actively help the THCC involvement in the community. Over the years, CityEvents has worked on various cultural events across the GTA. In March, Deborah organized an event for ANOKHI MEDIA. The event was established in 2007 to celebrate the regional, national and international success story of the dynamic South Asian community, and has since become an annual calendar highlight amongst its consumers, clients, participating talent, celebrities, and the media.

Being in the event planning industry, Deb knows the importance of networking. She is a big believer in using local chambers of commerce as a business networking tool. Deb also has a passion for entrepreneurship. One of her main clients is an accounting firm called Hogg, Shain & Scheck. The firm works primarily with entrepreneurs to provide them with personalized services to help grow their business and achieve their financial goals. One specific thing Deb really appreciates about the THCC (among countless others) is how they take time to recognize entrepreneurs and business owners in Toronto.

Deb’s professional and creative approach as well as her association management experience makes her a leader in her field and an asset to the Board of Directors at the THCC. We are all very excited for Deb and know she will do a great job in her new role!

O Resto Lounge: An Intimate Downtown Venue

‘Food, Fun, and Friends’ is the Motto of O Resto Lounge. Located at 7 King Street East, the staff incorporate this vision into reality by embracing the mantra that, ‘at ‘O,’ we celebrate life everyday’.

Screen Shot 2015-02-20 at 2.09.03 PM

Open for Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, O Resto Lounge comfortably sits 80 to 100 people and provides a basic atmosphere for hosting events.

The restaurant is perfect for smaller casual corporate events as it is themed with elegant red and hot pink accents, classy black mini chandeliers, a fabulous long bar, plus a lovely front patio.

Screen Shot 2015-02-20 at 2.09.11 PM

During breakfast hours ‘O’s’ excellent food selections are complemented by the extensive list of coffee’s and specialty drinks. Whether you are in the mood for coffee, espresso, latte, or mocha, ‘O’ has what seems to be a never-ending list of selection. The array of choices extends to the Lunch and Dinner menu. A variety of burgers, pizzas, and poutines are among the list of comfort foods most popular at ‘O’.

If you are looking to host a late night event, ‘O’ offers a long list of red and white wines, craft beer, martinis, scotch, whisky, cognac, and cocktails- perfect for serving at your event.

We checked out the venue and it is quite casual so may be a good fit for staff events. We felt the rental and min spend was a bit high for the venue but the location is excellent as is beside the King subway.

Address: 7 King Street East, Toronto, ON
Hours: 11am-11pm (weekdays), 11am-12am (weekends)
