Toronto Museums Attracting and Engaging New Audiences

Experiencing art is a prominent trend in Toronto, from events like Scotiabank Nuit Blance, Scotiabank Contact Toronto, to The Toronto International Film Festival. Toronto Museums are using evening events to draw a younger audience through their doors.

“ROM Friday Night Live” is encouraging young adults 25-33 years of age to “go beyond the artifacts and experience the ROM with special events and programming.” Returning May 3rd, 2013 ROM Friday Night Live will bring young adults of Toronto to the ROM for a night of dancing, food, drink and of course art. Come enjoy the city’s most unlikely club scene! Friday May 3rd will feature The JUNO Awards, Luminato and Ancient Mesopotamia.

“1st Thursdays” at the AGO happen the first Thursday of every month, attracting crowds of 2,500 guests. Enjoy some of the best art, music and people this city has to offer while enjoying dancing, drinks and food. Every week there are different DJs and highlights that you do not want to miss! Thursday May 2nd, 2013 will feature the exhibition revealing the Early Renaissance: Stories and Secrets in Florentine Art, with headlining artist ZEUS.
These Toronto Museums have found thier evening events to be extremely successful; drawing in around 2,500 guests and selling out a month in advance. Young adults in Toronto are becoming more immersed in art through these new experiences. Their new events have been helped the ROM and AGO broaden their audiences. Connecting youth to art through experiences is the key to this success, changing the preconceived notion that Museum events are for highbrowed sophisticated individuals.  CityEvents also recommends these venues as versatile spaces for special events. To find out more contact their venue rental departments.

CityEvents goes Social

In case you missed the exciting news, we at CityEvents, Toronto’s premier event planning boutique, have expanded operations to include CitySocial, our social media management & training division! The new services being offering consist of designing and executing online marketing campaigns for products and events, focusing on social media planning and tactics. Additionally, we will have training and guidance available for those who wish to manage their own online marketing, but are not familiar with social media, or the right strategy for them.

We cater our event planning and marketing services to small and medium size businesses in international trade, arts and culture, and the hospitality sectors, as well as non-profit organizations. We are also offering our new social media services in French and Spanish!

Two weeks ago we had the opportunity to launch CitySocial, as the official social media sponsor of UnExpected ’13, the Opening Night VIP Party for the Canadian Special Events Expo. Our team managed online interactions prior to and after the event, and were responsible for on-site promotion of contests, and social media engagement. This recent expansion will now offer our client’s the opportunity for one stop shopping at CityEvents, from product and event development, marketing strategies, metrics, and more.
