Rolling Rampage On The Hill

Thursday October 10, 2013 was a very special day! Indeed, hundreds of elementary students participated to the 8th Annual Rolling Rampage event on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The aim of the event was first to showcase International Wheelchair Racing and to deliver the message that sports are accessible to all.

The sponsor of the event was The Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons, which is committed to advancing the immeasurable abundance of skill and capacity in Canada’s disability community.

Some of the world’s fastest wheelchair athletes have showcased their talent in a Men’s and Women’s 10K International Wheelchair Road Race. International Athletes coming from Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Japan, Korea and South Africa were present for that special event, such as Josh Cassidy, Diane Roy, Ernst Van Dyk and Amanda McGrory, to compete for $30,000 in prizes.

The Rolling Rampage On The Hill also welcomed Senators, Members of Parliament, and Ministers such as the Minister of State for Sport Bal Gosal. This event was an opportunity to show how sport can be inspiring and how strong is its healing power is for disabled persons.

THCC 2013 Vision Award

On Thursday October 10th 2013, The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce celebrated the THCC Vision Awards at The Art Gallery of Ontario.  This was an amazing event where six Canadian Hispanic Business Leaders were awarded for their excellence in their field and their positive impact on the Hispanic Community.

The six happy awarded recipients were:

-          Mauricio Idarraga for the Young Entrepreneur Award

-          Elisa Hajducek for the Entrepreneur Award

-          Kelly De La Flor for the Small Business Award

-          Abraham Catano for the Retail Award

-          Carlos Bastidas for the Arts and Culture Award

-          Mauricio Ospina for the Career Achievement Award

The event was very lively thanks to the jazz trio from Lula Lounge, the silent auction the appetizers and drinks! So many people were gathered that day mixing guests with nominees, easily recognizable thanks to their rose boutonniere. There were also a number of diplomats in attendance and all of the Hispanic media outlets.

The presentation of the event was remarkable with Ivy Cuervo from CBC as the MC, but also the sponsors.

But the highlight of the show was the Business of the year Award that awards the best business, embodying all of the highest attributes of entrepreneurship and community involvement. And the Award Recipient was Idalia Obregon, from EXITOTC who was instrumental in growing the THCC.

The evening was full of surprises and nobody wanted to leave the party! Finally, everyone took the bus shuttle for the Official After Party at Lula Lounge, to continue the evening in this joyful atmosphere!

It’s a place where sports heroes gather and fans can live the dream.  What you may not know is that Real Sports Bar & Grill is a unique and exciting meeting venue as well and has a variety of separate areas.

The versatility of the space has a capacity of corporate groups ranging from 30 to 40 people to 1,000 plus. The Restaurant features 3 different bar’s, a VIP Player’s Lounge that has hosted the likes of LeBron James, Wendel Clark, Michael Strahan, and Drake amongst others; along with a set of Private Suites on the second floor that are surrounded by clear railings.  Making it impossible to miss any of the action on the 199 flat screen HD TVs and the monstrous 39 ft. diagonal HD TV above the bar. The beauty of the space is the built in entertainment value of the restaurant, and the food.

In fact, the staff spent six months crisscrossing the country eating the best and worst of sports bar food before they decided on what they would serve at Real Sports Bar & Grill.
Be it a corporate festivity, a presentation, or a milestone event, the screens can be used to brand your event should you take on the task of renting the entire space or a minimum cost of F&B.
