Rob Campbell, Prime Innovator at Smojoe, www.smojoe.com/blog

Here’s a chance to learn valuable tips, simple tricks and advanced tactics for marketing your events in Toronto. The seminar will cover a step-by-step process and guide participants on how they should market their events or fundraisers. The experience comes complete with a handy booklet on which to notate revelations.  Participants will learn how to ‘put it out there’ and develop a communications strategy and agenda to target and achieve event objectives. With some basic knowledge, innovation, creative thinking, and the right partnerships, everybody can master event marketing.

You will learn:

  • Developing your target market
  • How to develop your marketing plan
  • How to create your write up and promotions to match your target demographic
  • Insights into a variety of different marketing tools (advertisements, public relations, viral campaigns, direct marketing, online, networking, and ‘new social’ media mechanisms beyond Facebook and Twitter)
  • How to create buzz around your event (Will discuss local success stories and why they worked. Rob will discuss Miss Teen Canada World campaign)
  • How to build social relevance on the web and increase your social media presence – a prerequisite discussion that precedes some of these other points
  • Participants will be supplied with a hands on booklet “How to Create Buzz for Your Event” (sold online for $20) which includes a list of over 50 local resources (websites) where you can promote your event

Another FastLane Networking event took place this month and this time, guests were able to mix and mingle outside Marben Restaurant’s patio. With beautiful weather, sophisticated ambiance, deliciously served hors d’oveurs and drinks, FastLane attendees were once again provided with many abundant networking opportunities.

Throughout the evening, Mambacho Cigars promoted their high-quality Nicaraguan cigars and great prizes were raffled off from a variety of participating sponsors. The patio was the perfect fit for easy networking and conversing with people from a number of professions. As the sun set, trendy young professionals, ambitious business owners, and even university alumni students gathered closely to exchange ideas, tips, and knowledge allowing them to accelerate their careers and expand their social network. All those who drove in the FastLane with us this month received a jam-packed gift bag at the end of the night and were marking their calendars for next month’s summer FastLane.

Photos were snapped of the event and can be available for viewing at www.fastlaneevents.ca.
