LG Innovators Ball Midnight Spell

On Thursday May 6th 2010, the Ontario science centre held their annual fundraiser Innovators Ball, this year titled ‘Midnight Spell’.
This year’s event revolved around the thrilling world of magic and sorcery. The evening, which began with a dinner catered by Jamie Kennedy and hosted by Ben Mulroney, had a distinctly mystical theme with magicians and illusionists performing throughout night.
In addition to special entertainment provided by award-winning magicians and illusionists, all guests were welcomed to enjoy the Harry Potter Exhibition. The guests were able to experience the world of Harry Potter through experiences such as sorted into their favorite Hogwarts house by the magical Sorting Hat, tossing a “quaffle” or pulling a screaming mandrake from its pot in Herbology.
The LG Innovators’ Ball, wrapped up with an after-party for more than 1000 guests. Party guests were in for a mystical delights with a trio of Toronto’s top DJs to entertain as the clock strikes midnight.

Join us in celebration of the beauty that is our city, in the ideal location, at the best time of year. We are delighted to mark the start of the summer season with this fantastic art experience. See the sun set over the city on our panoramic balcony while supporting a superb community based, charitable arts organization. It is with great pleasure that we contribute to the ongoing success and growth of Art Starts. Toronto is ART will be launched from the stunning 38th floor Sky Lounge at 10 Yonge Street, on June 24th, from 7-10 pm.
Toronto is ART is an evening of exploration and discovery, stimulated by an enticing fusion of art, wine and food. By supplementing works provided by artist-affiliates of Art Starts, we have integrated Toronto inspired artwork with the distinctive flavours of local wine and food to create a truly unique and interactive experience.
We have partnered with local charity Art Starts, to raise awareness about the importance of community art programs and their role in building healthy neighbourhoods in Toronto. “At Art Starts we understand that the arts are a medium for engaging residents, creating a shared sense of identity, recognizing challenges and collectively working to overcome them.”
The organization uses a diverse range of artistic media, and encourages participation from all ages, artists and ethnic backgrounds. All proceeds from Toronto is ART are in support of Art Starts.
