On Saturday, February 11th 2017, The Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons celebrated the 33rd year of the Great Valentine Gala, an awards ceremony and fundraising event that celebrates the success of Canadians with physical disabilities.

With over 470 guests in attendance, attendees were treated to delicious food, sweet wines and live performances by the amazing Beatles tribute band – The Caverners. Of course, Suhana Meharchand, the event’s enthusiastic and professional MC, did an outstanding job as the Master of Ceremonies.

A lively reception took place in the Fairmont Royal York’s Ontario Room at 6PM, where guests in attendance were invited to socialize with other CFPDP members and guests as well as enjoy the complimentary drinks offered at the bars. Guests were also invited to sign a banner at the Invictus Games booth that is to be displayed at the event taking place in September 2017.

Afterwards in the Canadian Room, food was served and awards were handed out to Canadians who have showcased to the world in the past year, their ability to work hard and strive for success. Congratulations to the 2016 Rio Paralympic Medal Winners, Chantal Petitclerc, Tim Hortons Canada and Cisco Canada.

The newcomer in Toronto’s craft beer scene is  Rainhard Brewery. It opened in March 2015, and has already won The Golden Tap Award for ‘Best Newcomer to the Beer Scene’. They set value to the quality of their beer, which is all hand-made in-house.

The CFPDP’s 33rd Annual Great Valentine Gala!

The Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons (CFPDP) will celebrate the 33rd year of hosting The Great Valentine Gala, one of the foundation’s largest fundraising events, on Saturday, February 11, 2017.

Since 1985, the gala has had over 22,000 attendees and has raised over $25 million. Thanks to Toronto Businessman, philanthropist and CFPDP founder, Vim Kochhar, The Great Valentine Gala has become an annual tradition in celebrating the accomplishments and achievements of physically challenged Canadians everywhere.

This year, with approximately 500 guests in attendance, balloons will be sold at a value of $60 in the exciting Tombola raffle. Guests can purchase a balloon at the raffle where they gain a chance to win a mystery prize.

All attendees are welcome to attend a beautiful reception before the main event where they can have a drink or two as well as mix and mingle with new and familiar faces. Following the reception, a fabulous dinner will be served promptly at 7:00 PM and afterwards a night of awards and great music presented by The Caverners, a Beatles tribute band, can be enjoyed.

After the awards are handed out and all the group photos are taken, a real party to end the night will begin where guests can enjoy great beverages, great food and best of all great company!
