Lenzr.com: Photo Contests for All Seasons
Today is officially the first day of autumn. For Torontonians, the change of season means last trips to the Toronto Islands, farmer’s markets and cottage country. Shorts and sundresses are packed away with a sigh, scarves and sweaters pulled off the shelves to add textured layers to city fashion. This summer/fall, Lenzr has three great photo contests, running September-October, that epitomize the seasonal switch that occurs at the autumnal equinox.
Lenzr’s Landscaping and Lawn Care photo contest wants to savour what’s left of the green grass and blooming flowers of summer. Do you or does someone you know have a perfectly manicured property that deserves to be remembered forever in a photograph? Is there a public space in Toronto that you feel has achieved excellence in landscaping design? Landscaping is an art, using organic, living materials and colors to express a wide variety of symbols and feelings. Send in your best shot of your favourite green space and you could win a great prize!
The prize is $250 worth of gardening tools, courtesy of the contest’s sponsor, a 100% emissions free property maintenance company located in the GTA.
Lenzr’s Canadian Harvest photo contest is set to collect autumn stories from all across Canada. Harvest time is different from coast to coast, and Toronto has its own unique way of expressing the season. Kids on tours at Riverdale Farm, families walking under a canopy of bright red leaves in High Park, trips to apple orchards, or little towns in the country for a fall fair–these are all ways the modern Torontonian may experience the Canadian Harvest.
The prize for this contest is $400 plus a photo licensing contract with the contest’s sponsor Nora Camps, a brand personality consultant who specializes in coming up with marketing solutions for charitable and not-for-profit agricultural organizations. She is looking for a harvest-themed photo for her website; the winning photographer will be published online and scoop up $400 cash.
Avant-garde structures like the ROM are exactly what Lenzr’s judges are looking for in the Metal World photo contest. If you’re a photographer who prefers to shoot in black and white, this could be your opportunity (along with the metallic world you shoot) to shine! Metallic structures have a decidedly futuristic feel about them and in most cases they’re cold and rather impersonal–try to capture these qualities and you may win a great prize!
The prize is a Sony laptop with a unique metal skin, courtesy of this contest’s sponsor, an Ottawa metal roofing company.
All three of these contests started September 1, 2011. Voting begins on October 15, after which the top ten user-ranked photos advance to the Lenzr judges. The winning photographs will be announced November 1, 2011.

It’s time for another Lenzr contest cycle. This round is a great opportunitiy for all professional photographers out there. This contests always aim to inspire people to think outside the box, but this round speaks to the months of summer and professionals.
A Manufacturing Process:
The first contest is called A Manufacturing Process. Lenzr was approached by a software company for help finding images for the process manufacturing and lean manufacturing pages. The winners of this contest will receive a 3 year licensing agreement for photo use (not exclusive) and $250. Take pictures of a machines during their robotic work. A great example is bottles waiting to be labeled. The software company is also offering $75 to three other members for their photos. This contest is strictly for professionals, if you think you have the talent to win it, then enter now.
Classy Summer Drinks:
The second contest is Classy Summer Drinks. Capture the essence of summer time in a glass. This is one my favortie constests because it’s a great way to end the summer. I spent a lot of time this summer on patios enjoying cold drinks to cool down. It can be a fruity drink or simply citrusy. Show Lenzr how you spent your summer and how you cooled down from the heat. Don’t forget to add some ice to your drink, the sponsor of this contest, a stainless steel ice cube tray knows the importance of the great chill . The winner of this contest will get $400 worth of product from the sponsor’s catalogue. The choice is yours. I would love new stainless steel items for my kitchen.
Both contests started on August 1st 2011. Just like all Lenzr contests, this is a 60 day challenge. Voting for the top 10 photos begins on September 15th but you can upload pictures until the 25th of the same month. The judges will deliberate and announce the winner October 1st.
Lenzr Adds Four New Photo Contests!

Lenzr had added another 4 contests to their July-August season. Lenzr always adds new contests to their cycle, which is pretty great. You don’t have to wait long before a new contest to spark your interest is added to the roster.
Fireplaces and Furnaces Photo Contest:
The first contest is Fireplaces and Furnaces. Since it’s so hot outside, Lenzr is trying to cool you down by having you think back to the cold winter. Submit photographs of you in a cozy scene. You can be getting all nice and warm around a fireplace or furnace. The winner of this contest will get a Sony Laptop courtesy of an Ontario furnace installer. The summer season is, after all, the cheapest time to think about a furnace replacement or installation.
Toronto Tourist Attractions Photo Contest:
The second contest is all about Toronto Tourist Attractions. Everywhere I go in Toronto, I hear accents and different languages. It is tourist season but I guess I never realized how big of a “tourist” hub Toronto has. Our city does have a lot of attractions to offer visitors–the islands alone are great and appealing to both locals and tourists. Let’s all celebrate the beauty of Toronto! Submit the type of photo you would like in a travel publication. The winner of this contest will receive a Sea Eagle inflatable kayak courtesy of a Toronto B&B that’s as downtown as you’ll find in Canada’s largest city.
Haircuts and Hairstyles Photo Contest:
The third contest is by far my favorite this month. It’s all about Haircuts and Hairstyles. I know a lot about that, I’ve had some of the worst and best hair jobs, so I feel like I can relate to this challenge comfortably. The idea is to capture a beautiful, unique or iconic hairstyle, with the haircut as the main focus of your photograph. The prize is also incredible–you win a high-end blow dryer and flat iron courtesy of a new Yorkville Salon. You can also use the flat iron create beautiful waves, making it a 2 in 1, a curler and flat iron.
Objects in Motion Photo Contest:
The fourth contest that has been added is Objects in Motion. This photo contest is a bit of a challenge and in my opinion you might need a professional camera to get the winning shot. You must capture an object, person or animal in motion. Be sure your photograph indicates which direction your object is moving in. The winner will receive a Sony laptop courtesy of an international air freight company that’s constantly keeping objects in motion over land, sea and sky.
Be sure to enter your photographs before August 25th. Judges will deliberate and choose the photograph from the top ten. The winner will be announced on September 1st.

It’s contest time at Lenzr.com and for this cycle they have 4 new contests and, as always, great prizes. The great part about the Lenzr.com contests is the fact that they celebrate those who love photography and the art behind it. The contests are always clever and unique, challenging budding photographers to think outside the box and channel their artistic sides for the win.
Construction Sights:
The first contest for this cycle is called Construction Sights. Basically, contestants have to go out and find the beauty behind the thing we all fear most in the morning: construction. Since Toronto has a lot of that going on right now, it shouldn’t be too hard to find the opportunity to get snapping.
Maybe when you are on your way to work or can take a moment to potentially win a prize. Get your camera focused and take some shots of lane closures or the creation of new condos. The winner of this contest will receive a sony laptop courtesy of an Ottawa windows company. They are known for their expertise and quality work.
Best Staff Office Party:
This contest seems destined to be a favourite, maybe it’s because the word party is in the title and we all know how much everyone loves a great event. Pretty much all of us have experienced a Best Staff Office Party. It can be a co worker’s birthday office celebration or Christmas party. The idea is to showcase the most fun you and your coworkers have had at a party.
Think, everyone standing around the karaoke machine waiting for their turn to sing their hearts out, or your boss mixing the drinks and refilling the snack bowls. The winner of this contest will receive a Sony Laptop courtesy of an IT staff firm. If you are looking for help finding a new employee or searching for your future career, they are the ones to call.
A Counting Exercise:
This contest reminds me of a time I went to my friend’s kid’s birthday party. I remember sitting there, enjoying the party but constantly looking over at the presents. I kept counting the number of gifts wrapped in pink paper. If you didn’t know, pink is my favorite color so naturally I am attracted to it. Anyway, whenever the conversation was taking a slight tangent I would find myself trying to guess and count the number.
The A Counting Exercisewants participants to take pictures showing their visual statistical distractions. The winner of this photo contest will receive a Sony laptop courtesy of some web savvy North York accountants. Your company’s success should be your accountants number one interest. The sponsor offers the best quality and efficiency when it comes a business’s needs.
Shafts of Sunlight:
This contest is very beautiful. The title of it makes me feel calm and relaxed. It probably has to do with the fact that I have desperately been waiting for the warm season. Participants in the Shafts Of Sunlight photo contest are asked to make a shaft of light seem tangible. It needs to look like something the judges can hold on to.
Photos can be taken indoors as they brighten and uplift the mood of the room. The winner for this contest will receive a Sony DSCH70 Camera, sponsored by sunrooms in Ontario Canada. The contests all have a ten day Voting Period that begins July 15th and ends July 25th. During that time, other members and visitors to the site will be prompted to rate the pictures. You can promote your photo to all your friends and get as many votes as possible. Only the ten photos with the most votes get to advance to the Lenzr Judges on July 25th. The Judges will deliberate and the winner will be announced on the Lenzr Blog on August 1st. You must be 13 yrs+ to enter. Open to all Canadian provinces, excluding Quebec. For more information on the blogs, check out the Lenzr Blog.

New Lenzr Photo Contests – April – May 2011
Don’t let the power of photography fool you. It’s a great form of expression and a useful story telling tool. The ability for the viewers to see through the eyes of others and gain different perspectives. Well, spring is a time of growth and renewal. It’s a perfect chance for people to try something new or continue to do what they do best and try to improve their quality of life. Lenzr has four new photo contests that will promote a challenge for the eye of the photographer and offer valuable prizes.
Weather the Storm Contest
The Weather the Storm photo contest is about changes in the atmosphere. The environmental storm that we encounter everywhere on this planet from time to time. Lenzr is asking for photographers to capture these stormy weather conditions with your camera. Use your fast shutter speed to get a quick click of the lightening strike. Think of the emotions conveyed with severe gusty winds. I know we experienced some heavy spring rainfalls recently along with hail storms. The judges decision for the best photo is going to receive an amazing new Sony digital camera with a 16.1 megapixel, and sweep panorama mode. It has lots of other functions as well. The commercial roofing company who takes pleasure in photography is sponsoring this photo contest.
Best Cottage Moments
I think of those amazing sounds of the loons on the lake with the Best Cottage Moments photo contest. I have images in my head of slowing down and rejuvenating. Many people travel along busy highways to get to their cottage destinations. Well, capture the reason for these long journeys. Grandpa sitting in his muskoka chair on the dock admiring the sunset would be another great moment to capture. Water sports are definitely a part of cottage life. The Sony Cyber-shot H70 digital camera is given as the prize for the the best picture with support from an amazing Muskoka Cottage.
What’s In Your Fridge contest is asking your to think outside of the box literally. It’s a unique photo challenge involving the fridge in your home. Give your hard working fridge some attention with the camera that it deserves. Don’t worry and just let your creative side show. Negotiate with your fridge which are the best subjects inside to capture. Explore with the lighting and different perspectives. Use your imagination when opening the fridge with your camera. Look at it like your have for the first time. Capture objects in your fridge that would be great compositions such as your mustard and ketchup snuggled together. The decision for the best photo will be made by the judges and the winner will receive 500 dollars worth of groceries thanks to the sponsors who share printable coupons and sharing deals online in your favourite places.
We all need change and growth in our lives from time to time. Thanks to Lenzr we have some new photography potentials. The photo objectives have deadlines for May 25, 2011. Make some plans with your camera and implement them with your camera. Submissions have already started and are free and easy.
